Overview

  • Supreme Symbol of Transformation: Lord Shiva, also known as Mahadev, Bholenath, Pashupati, and Neelkanth, is worshipped as the destroyer of negativity and the source of spiritual transformation, inner peace, and new beginnings.
  • Embodiment of Divine Power: Worshipped in the form of the sacred Shivling, Lord Shiva represents the infinite universe and the unity of divine energies. His symbols—the Trishul, Damru, crescent moon, Ganga, and serpent—reflect strength, wisdom, and cosmic balance.
  • Protector of the Universe: Lord Shiva earned the name Neelkanth after consuming the deadly Halahal poison during Samudra Manthan to save the universe, symbolizing His boundless compassion, sacrifice, and protective nature.
  • Blessings Through Shiva Puja: Chanting the sacred mantra “Om Namah Shivaya” and performing Shiva Puja helps remove obstacles, dispel negative energies, enhance mental peace, improve health, attract prosperity, build courage, and promote overall success and family harmony.

Shiva, which is also known by other names such as Mahadev, Bholenath, Pashupati and Neelkanth, is among the most significant gods of the Hindu faith. He is adored as the god of destruction and transformation, who destroys all forms of negative energies using his divinity in order to bring about rejuvenation, spiritual progress and mental peace. Shiva is one of the three main manifestations of Trimurti together with Lord Brahma and Lord Vishnu.

Another important aspect of Shiva is Shivling, which is eternal and symbolic of infinity in the universe and the unity of divine powers. A few of the important features of Lord Shiva are his hair in plaits, crescent moon, Ganges River flowing from his hair, snake around his neck, Trishul (trident) and Damru (drum). Lord Shiva is also worshiped as Nataraja, which means the Lord of Dance. His dance represents the creation and destruction of the universe.

According to the myths of Hinduism, Shiva became famous as Neelkanth for consuming the poison called Halahal in order to save the destruction of the entire universe. In this manner, His kindness and concern about others is clearly manifested through this action. Many devotees of Shiva such as Ravana worshiped Him in order to get His blessings and strength.

The holy chanting of “Om Namah Shivaya” mantra helps in cleansing the mind and reduces the stress and increases the spirituality in life. Doing Shiva Puja eliminates all the problems and gives protection from negative energy and good health, wealth, bravery, and success in life.
